Community Service 101 today announced they will be forming a partnership with
PlantARowForTheHungry.org and several local community service organizations in hopes of providing several hundred pounds of fresh vegetables to local food banks and homeless shelters.
Plant A Row for the Hungry is a community-based program that encourages gardeners to grow a little extra and donate the produce to local soup kitchens and food pantries serving the homeless and hungry in their local communities.
CommunityService101 (CS101) is a Chicago based organization which provides volunteer
management services for a variety of non-profit organizations. Their main program is a password protected website created to make it easier for Workers, Non-Profit Site Managers and Court Employees to keep track of court ordered community service hours and also provides a platform to match meaningful projects with non-profit agencies and organizations.Amy Gray “Community Services Manager” for CS101 announced today that the two organizations will be working together to provide extra produce for the greater good in support of food relief organizations in neighborhoods and cities nationwide. According to Amy, CS101 will provide the volunteer labor and supervise all manpower necessary to maintain several community based gardens next year in cooperation with various non-profit agencies who will work together to support this new program.
"Our goal is to not only provide court-ordered workers with meaningful projects which will actually benefit the community in which they live but also to provide a positive impact on the local food banks and pantries within their communities”
CS101 is always seeking to partner with local non-profit agencies.
