Back Home From a Big Box Store Visit in Cincinnati, Ohio

Aug. 15, 2010 - PRLog -- Just got back from visiting 2 well known home improvement and flooring stores. On ocassion a customer will call me with the name of a carpet they saw at one of these stores that advertise the $ 37-$59- or $ 97 whole house installation price. I just wonder how many consumers go to those places and wait like I did today. By the time a clerk came to wait on me I could have taken all the samples in the whole carpet department. JUST KIDDING. At this one lumber (floor store) the clerk was from plumbing and really couldn’t offer any help. Makes me want to go and open up a shop right beside their location !

To make a long story short; they raise all their carpet and padding prices to make up for the low up front price. And then get ready for the 15 page contract you better read before you sign and pay upfront in full for your purchase. They are actually making more money than they would using traditional price structures.

Be smart and shop at a local flooring store that deals in flooring. That’s where you will get straight answers and a better deal on you purchase, not to mention a much better and pro installed job
