Aug. 11, 2010 - PRLog -- PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania (BFTP/SEP) celebrated its 25th Anniversary today with a reception at its Navy Yard headquarters, where the company showcased its new program called “Entrepreneurship Uncovered: Leading by Example” to foster the entrepreneurial spirit in high school students.

In front of a crowd, BFTP/SEP’s President and CEO RoseAnn B. Rosenthal, and Chairman of the Board Robert E. Keith, Jr., highlighted the milestones and successes of the organization throughout its history, which includes providing more than $130 million to grow more than 1,600 regional enterprises.

“During the past 25 years, Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania has drawn upon the inspiration and innovation that has permeated throughout the Southeastern Pennsylvania region,” said Rosenthal. “We have built our namesake and reputation on the foundation of visionary entrepreneurs, partners and institutions, and look forward to fostering new businesses, new industries and new jobs for decades to come.”

During the past year, BFTP/SEP has been working with Perlow Productions and the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) to create the video series Entrepreneurship Uncovered: Leading by Example, which will be used in classrooms across the country. The entire video production turned out 7 unique videos. The series highlights the stories of six successful BFTP/SEP entrepreneurs who offer advice to aspiring entrepreneurs. NFTE, which partners with high schools in low-income communities throughout the world to introduce the idea of business ownership and the principals of entrepreneurship, will develop a learning guide to accompany the video series as it is made available to NFTE’s partner schools nationally.

Rosenthal and Keith were joined by Peter J. Boni, President and CEO of Safeguard Scientific, Inc. and co-chairman of the Philadelphia Advisory Board of NFTE. Boni said, “Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania’s partnership with and involvement in NFTE is a key component to the success of the organization in the Philadelphia area. Entrepreneurs of tomorrow are critical to the continued success of this region. As this video series demonstrates, there are many entrepreneurs who can learn from today’s business leaders and their success stories, many of whom got their start through BFTP/SEP.”
