Pilgrim Spur - A Long Island Railroad Under Attack

Herbicide usage on abandoned railroad tracks under investigation - watch video.

The NYSDEC is also looking into a statewide issue of herbicide application on trackbeds. To make matters more confusing, there's another law about federal track safety regulations requiring the clearing of trackbeds.

However, the Pilgrim Spur, only for use by Pilgrim State Hospital, is now abandoned.
