“All American Girls” Opens Tomorrow Featuring Setor Attipoe

Aug. 3, 2010 - PRLog -- “All American Girls”, the NAACP award-winning new play by Layon Gray opens with a cast of outstanding African American female talent.

Press previews begin on August 4, 2010 and the show makes its official opening on August 25, 2010 at The Actors Temple Theatre, 338 West 47th Street, New York, NY.

“All American Girls” is scheduled to run through September 4th, and producers are expecting extensions similar to Gray’s “Black Angels Over Tuskegee” play, which was scheduled to close in December 2010 but is still going strong.

“All American Girls” is the story of an all Negro female baseball team in 1945. The players have been brought in from all over the country to play an exhibition baseball game against a White team – an event that promises unprecedented attendance and income for White team owners.

When the coach of the team goes missing and a young journalist insists on getting answers, a dark secret is uncovered. “All American Girls” examines racism, deceit and betrayal told with vibrant, colorful characters and shocking discoveries.

The cast features Actress/Playwright/Producer Setor Attipoe, also known as “A Different Kind of Triple Threat”. Attipoe plays one of the principal characters, Mattie Jackson, a sassy, feminine and confident young woman from Harlem. Jackson is the best Negro baseball pitcher on the East coast and isn’t at all shy about telling people. Attipoe brings the character to life with her signature charm, wit and electric stage presence.

Attipoe is juggling her rehearsal schedule with managing Lamb To A Lion Productions, where she produces the Award-Winning “Love, Life, & Redemption” and will be introducing two new plays to nationwide audiences this year.

“We’re in the process of organizing a 60 campus tour nationwide and it’s the most excited I have been since I started Lamb to A Lion productions!
