Follow on Google News | Graduates Of Orinda Academy’s Class Of 2010 To Attend Top UniversitiesThe graduating class of 23 students at Orinda Academy, a private school in Orinda, California in Contra Costa County, received diplomas on June 11, 2010. The students will be attending colleges and universities nationwide including UC schools.
By: Orinda Academy Graduates’ accomplishments include: Valedictorian Dylan Kimsey Hutchinson of El Cerrito an accomplished musician, scholar, and dean’s list graduate, will attend Carnegie Mellon in the fall to pursue a biology degree. Crystal Cardona, from Martinez, received two awards for her community service for Chilean and Haitian earthquake relief, participation in the Critical Issues Forum, and the People of Color Conference. Beau Hall, from Concord, was the recipient of an award for volunteer work for completion of his Eagle Scout project, his role as assistant director of the school play, and his participation in the People of Color Conference. Ken Fleischman, and Alex Brown, both from Oakland, were selected as male athletes of the year for soccer and mountain biking respectively. Hillary Calef, of Albany was selected as female athlete of the year for dance, which she will pursue at the University of Oregon. Dylan Marcus, of Oakland, received an award for his multimedia work. Aubrey Love, of Oakland, received a full scholarship to UCLA.
