A-list Staten Island Musicians Play the Raritan Bay Festival

On Saturday, June 26, seven Staten Island musicians play at the First Annual Raritan Bay Festival in Conference House Park, Staten Island, opposite Perth Amboy, NJ.
 
June 23, 2010 - PRLog -- On Saturday, June 26, six Staten Island musicians or bands play at the First Annual Raritan Bay Festival. The musicians are:

Noon: Harry Oppenheimer, mountain dulcimer player and master of ceremonies

2 pm: Mac Gollehan, jazz trumpeter with solos on David Bowie's “Let's Dance,” Jagger and Bowie's “Dancin' the Street,” Grace Jones's “Inside Story,” Duran Duran's “Notorious,” Billy Ocean's “Get Out Of My Dreams,” and on the soundtrack to Eddie Murphy’s Coming to America. 3 pm: Allergic to B's, the bluegrass duo of Gary and Joan Moore

4 pm: Gene Gambardella, bluegrass

5 pm: Norm Pederson, Bob Conroy, two members of the American and Irish folk music group Stout. See http://www.stoutmusic.org/ for more.

6 pm: FigureHead, an alternative/grunge band popular at the Cup in Stapleton

Also on the schedule are free kayaking offered by Kayak Staten Island, a craft & art fair sponsored by Friends of Fire, the Sleeping Beauty puppet show from City Parks Foundation’s Puppet Mobile, oyster farming demonstrations by the NY/NJ Baykeepers, and fishing demonstrations by the Fishermen’s Conservation Association.

The Conference House Association will provide discounted tours of the Conference House museum from noon to 4 p.m., as well as run an “attic treasures” sale of items from the Conference House Collection and from board and auxiliary members.
