Colombian DTH market continued to grow in Q110

June 18, 2010 - PRLog -- In the first quarter of 2010, Colombian DTH market had 436.600 subscribers compared to 331.600 subscribers in the same period in 2009. It represents a 31.7% growth (+105.000 subscribers).

There are two DTH operators in Colombia, DirecTV and Telefonica. DirecTV had 66% of market share in March 2010 with 289.200 subcribers while Telefonica had 147.400 subscribers with 34% of market share.

With around 8.2% of households penetration, Pay TV market in Colombia is quite low  but it continues to grow. According to Dataxis Intelligence, Colombian DTH market will reach 1 million subscriber mark in 2014.
