ZTE partners Telekom Malaysia to roll out HSBB network

June 17, 2010 - PRLog -- ZTE, leading global provider of telecom equipment and network solutions based in China, announced yesterday that it will be collaborating with Telekom Malaysia to participate as one of the major suppliers to construct a national high speed broadband network in Malaysia. Under the contract, ZTE will provide Telekom Malaysia with Multi-Service Access Nodes (MSAN) as part of the first phase of the HSBB network development.

Jane Chen, senior vice president of ZTE, commented: “We are pleased to partner with Telekom Malaysia to construct its national HSBB network, and in turn help the company to maintain its leadership position in the local market”.

The HSBB network is a nationwide communications initiative spearheaded by the Malaysian government with the aim of turning Malaysia into a broadband rich nation. The objective is to increase broadband home penetration rate to 50 percent from the current 35 percent by the end of 2010.
