Follow on Google News | First Global Citrus Conference In Cape Town This JulyThe Citrus Growers Association of Southern Africa is pleased to announce the inaugural Global Citrus Conference 2010 to be held at the Bay Hotel, Camps Bay on the 8 – 9 July 2010.
By: Buzz Communication The conference programme focuses on important topics facing the citrus industry today, and provides information that is bound to be of interest to delegates during the two day event. Well known and respected thought leader, Clem Sunter will be addressing conference delegates on “The world and South Africa in 2010”. We live in a world that is constantly evolving and the west has been the dominant force in global politics and economics - a veritable superpower apart from the former Soviet Union. But the game has changed quite dramatically over the last three decades, with the emergence of new, and highly influential, players answering to different rules while tilting the global playing field their way. Eric Imbert, researcher in economics from Cirad and Chief Editor of Fruitrop, France will discuss the international fresh citrus market while Phillipe Binard explores the issue of meeting requirements to boost the consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables on the European markets. Philippe is the General Delegate of Freshfel Europe and SHAFFE. Market opportunities in Russia and the UAE will be covered by Pierre Escodo from Eurofresh Distribution Magazine. Dawie Moelich from Packing Concepts, ExperiCo Fruit Technology Solutions, South Africa will talk about bio-degradable and bio-plastic material in fruit packaging and Pat Barley will cover Bio-security. Citrus varieties will be discussed from a global perspective by Prof Etienne Rabe from Paramount Citrus Association. And finally, Jose Antonio Garcia Director of AILIMPO will discuss Co-opetition - the need for a global citrus body to stimulate demand. There will be a gala dinner with lively entertainment not to be missed. The Circle of Sunshine show is simply a kaleidoscope of colour, featuring gum boot dancing, African drumming and four of S.A.’s hottest frontline vocalist, guaranteed to get guests dancing. This is a wonderful opportunity to sponsor a new and innovative conference for the citrus industry and for business to market and showcase their product / service offering where both suppliers and producers will be exposed to their product offer. There are various sponsorship opportunities available, suitable for all budgets. These are considered very good value for money due to the exposure that companies will receive.
