Sea Scouts Ready for Summer Sailing Thanks to Johnny's Marine Service

June 4, 2010 - PRLog -- Johnny’s Marine Service recently celebrated its grand opening by restoring a needy boat for the US Sailing Center of Martin County.  The experience went so well, that owner, John Wigle, decided to seek out other groups that might need his assistance.  He contacted the Sea Scouts in Stuart and found out that their sailboat’s hull was separating. Wigle decided to give a few days to bring this sailboat back for the Scouts.

The Sea Scouts is sometimes called the Boy Scouts of America’s best kept secret. Sea Scouting is a coed outdoor program for young adults 14 - 20 years old and their adult advisors.  Sea Scouting had its beginning at a camp fire in England when Lord Baden-Powell, a founder of the Boy Scouts, voiced the hope that older Scouts would be interested in learning about boat management and seamanship. He stressed the need for young men to prepare themselves for service on their country's ships. The Sea Scouts eventually caught on in America and many of them went on to serve in the US Navy. Johnny’s Marine Service was recently formed and offers general services which include detailing, waxing, restoring, wiring, installations, etc. and can be done either at his shop or at your home or business.  He is a Gelcoat Specialist and Fiberglass Technician and specializes in both custom jobs and general maintenance and repair.  Maintenance programs are available.  He offers free estimates and enjoys a challenge.  He can solve any problem and do just about anything with fiberglass.  He is not afraid to brainstorm with the client to meet their exact needs.
