Citizen Pictures Brings Home the Jackpot with Colorado Lottery TV “Road Trip”

June 2, 2010 - PRLog -- (DENVER, CO – June 1, 2010.)  “Powerball Dude” and his new BFF “Mega Millions” rolled across the stage at Citizen Pictures with an all-Colorado cast and crew to produce the new Colorado Lottery “Road Trip” television campaign.  Colorado Lottery’s agency of record Cactus Communications enlisted Citizen Pictures to produce and co-direct the fun, “buddy” themed series of spots featuring the beloved “Powerball” character, now joined by sidekick “Mega Millions” as they travel across Colorado by car.

Shot on the Citizen sound stage, the shoot was co-directed by Cactus’ Brian Watson and AJ Koch, Citizen Pictures Editor/Director. Koch’s longstanding relationship with Cactus as a commercial editor made him the perfect choice to co-direct this “Colorado Lottery” series in his directorial debut.  In addition to directing, Koch edited the four spots and contributed to compositing the spot with Citizen Head of Design Jim Brisnehan, who oversaw on-set Effects and Prop Management.

The larger-than-life lottery ball costumes worn by the actors were just the tip of the iceberg in this unique TV campaign. The live-action took place in a prop car enhanced in post-production by 3D Artist Shawn Astrom.  The spots were shot by Director of Photography Brook Aitken of recent Oscar fame (“The Cove” won best feature documentary); Line Producer Britt Coleman and Post Production Supervisor Josh Dirmish, both of Citizen Pictures; and voice-over narrator Josh Goodman of radio station KTCL.  The “Powerball” and “Mega Millions” characters were played by Denver-based talents Jeremy Make and Jake Walker, respectively.
