May 20, 2010 - PRLog -- Much of  G20 Summit activities will take place the Metro Convention Centre on Front Street. The area roughly bounded by Spadina Ave to the west, Queen St  to the north, Yonge St to the west, an the Queens Quay to the south  will be impacted by events prior to and on the days of the events June 26 to 27.
People working and living in the area are being issued identity cards or badges. This will no doubt lead to various checkpoints and efforts by the security forces to ensure that people who have no business in being in this area do not get into the area. There has been talk of businesses storing food on their premises should there be some sort of lockdown measures that come into effect. There is advice being issued for those that normally wear business clothing to dress casually and not draw the attention of protesters.
A local business is hoping to help businesses avoid much of this incovenience by simply relocated their business operations to its facility in the west end of the city on a temporary basis during the week prior to the event. Leo Coholic, the director of the Longbranch Centre for Business Excellence, says "We are offering a promotion to businesses that operate within the area that will be effected by the G20 Summit: Come work from our facility during the week prior to the summit and avoid all of what will happen during this period. If you are an employee, talk to your boss about letting you work from the facility. If you are an employer, try to minimize the impact of the summit by way of stress and limiting workflow. At  $100 for the week prior to the summit, it will be money well spent. We have 108 workspaces available." Feel free to visit the centre's website at www.3301.ca or its sister website catering to Toronto's coworking community www.coworkingspace.ca to learn more about the offering.
