Euro Tool History: The present day EURO TOOL originated with Herman Kirkpatrick representing Albert Froidevaux and Sons of Switzerland in the North American market in 1978.

It was tough going at first, and distributors were all using the Jadow, Dixon and Hammel Riglander catalogs. Not a single dealer that we called on ever said “Glad to see you, we’ve been hoping a new tool supplier would appear!”

But, we kept at it, developing a number of new items, including high-end diamond tweezers made by Dumont, testers for watches and batteries and several other tools of value which gave us momentum.

In 1980, Froidevaux – USA (as we were then known) rented a small warehouse space and began bringing in stock for immediate delivery.

Two years thereafter we rented a larger space then expanded into a neighboring building in 1986.

In 1990 we took a big step and built our own warehouse/office facility. We had our grand opening on October 6, 1990. At that time we wondered how we were going to fill such a “large” warehouse.

In 1994 the company, land and building were purchased from the Swiss partners and the trade name of EURO TOOL became the company’s name: EURO TOOL, Inc. As of 1998 the registered trade names of ToolSmart™ and BeadSmart™ are used in the fine jewelry trade and bead trade respectively.

EURO TOOL sells into the jewelry/watchmaking and beading trade via qualifying dealers in North America and abroad. We also sell to dealers in the beauty, hobby and electronics trade.

The company has grown every year since 1990 and has brought to market many innovations to make the job of jewelers, watchmakers and others easier. We believe that EURO TOOL has brought more new ideas to market than any other company in the industry.
