Burns & Morrissey A-D is Responsible for the Design of New Wit or Witout Location in Brookhaven, PA

May 16, 2010 - PRLog -- Burns & Morrissey is quickly becoming a staple when creating a new Philadelphia restaurant. The young, progressive boutique firm has designed several unique restaurants, a couple of their latest are Amy’s on Main and Gate House Café. The latest addition to the collection is Wit or Witout in Brookhaven, PA. With this restaurant Burns & Morrissey is breaking the mold on what a “typical” cheese steak restaurant looks like.

The owner Nicole Dizio has an unconventional approach to Philly’s cheese steak shops. Burns & Morrissey was just the right firm to help her make her dreams for her latest Brookhaven location a reality. Known as the “Cheese Steak Queen”,  as written in the latest article about her in Philadelphia Magazine; she can rest peacefully knowing she is the only woman in Philadelphia with that title. Her appeal to Burns & Morrissey was her drive to bring something different to the market through design and architecture.  Her fun diverse approach to the traditional cheese steak shop was perfect for the creativity and design spectrum that the team at BMAD has.

BMAD Founding Principles James Michael Morrissey, AIA Associate & Jack Edward Burns, Jr., AIA, SARA  are bringing design and creativity to a whole new level using color and non traditional shapes, marking the new restaurant with a modern and fun twist.  Nicole currently has 2 other locations and is planning on expanding her new found empire, ruling over it with her crown and with the help of the design team at BMAD.

Wit or Without fits Burns & Morrissey’s philosophy because it is not only ground breaking and progressive, it is also a the perfect mix of traditional and new. They wanted to make walking into a cheese steak place as pleasing to your eyes as it is to your nose and belly.  The design of the Wit or Without in Brookhaven has definitely succeeded with taking a non traditional approach to a very traditional staple in Pennsylvania culture since the 1930’s.
