By: Shara Darden Small business owners across the U.S. including the BWI Corridor are starting to show signs of job growth, according to a survey conducted by The Growth Coach, a business coaching franchise system that serves several thousand small business clients annually in more than 150 markets across North America. Allison Herstein Moran, owner of The Growth Coach franchise in Savage, MD, participated in the ‘Business Barometer’ survey, a study completed by 42 percent of the business coaches (Growth Coach Franchise Owners) across the country. The Growth Coach corporate headquarters conducts the survey quarterly to capture a snapshot of the “economic mindset” of the thousands of small business clients their coaches serve. Based on survey responses, 37 percent of business coaches, including Herstein Moran, reported that their small business clients (defined as less than 100 employees) plan to hire new employees during the second, third, or fourth quarter of 2010. In addition, of the open positions small business owners plan to fill 36% will be new jobs to support growth and 44% will be replacement positions for previous employees. As small business owners prepare to hire more employees, the survey also highlights that 70 percent of small business owners have no plans to lay off any additional employees during the remainder of 2010. “We coach dozens of small businesses in the area, which provides us with tremendous insight on the local small business climate,” said Herstein Moran, owner of The Growth Coach of Baltimore Washington Corridor. “This latest Business Barometer indicates that local business owners are creating their roadmaps to plan out how they are going to fill the empty positions left during the worst of the recession. It shows that the light at the end of the tunnel is indeed starting to shine through in the Baltimore Washington Corridor.” David Spigelman, owner/president of Working Nets, Inc. has seen real growth since starting coaching earlier this year. He has plans to hire at least one technician in the next 6 – 9 months. The Growth Coach specializes in providing affordable group coaching workshops to business owners and executives utilizing its proprietary Strategic Mindset® process. In addition, they provide face-to-face coaching, Coaching Club (tele-coaching) For more information on The Growth Coach of the Baltimore Washington Corridor, please contact Allison Herstein Moran at (301)346-2859 or visit online at http://www.businesscoachingbyallison.com.
