May 11, 2010 - PRLog -- As the world economy starts to recover, the AIIM Roadshow 2010, the UK's leading Enterprise Content Management (ECM) event, will demonstrate how organisations can retain the cost savings made during the downturn, using the five best practice milestones for information, document and records management. With keynotes and practical advice from the UK Managing Director of AIIM, Doug Miles, Microsoft’s Office Server Group Director, Peter King and the Principal of The Real Story Group (formerly CMS Watch), Alan Pelz-Sharpe, visitors will learn how to build more efficient processes, waste less time and facilitate better teamwork.

The sheer volume and increasingly fragmented / de-centralised nature of business-critical information is leaving many organisations unable to manage it efficiently. Using a combination of keynotes and interactive seminars on each day, delegates at the AIIM Roadshow 2010 will learn how to optimise their information management systems in five ways, whilst maintaining recent cost savings. The five milestones are:

-   Save time: by increasing enterprise-wide access to documents, emails, faxes, invoices, reports, case notes, contracts and customer records
-   Reduce costs: by streamlining business processes and avoiding duplicated effort
-   Minimise risk: by ensuring compliance with the latest legislation
-   Improve collaboration: by facilitating and encouraging information sharing
-   Increase customer service quality: to retain existing clients and win new ones

Opening the proceedings each day will be Doug Miles from AIIM, the international authority on information management and ECM. “In my keynote I’ll be looking at eight reasons why it’s important to have an information management strategy right now, including content chaos, compliance and collaboration,” he comments. “Using feedback from ECM users, we’ll identify where organisations are seeing most return and where the biggest roadblocks lie. We’ll also look at how people are dealing with multiple document repositories and how Microsoft SharePoint fits into their plans.”

Peter King will present a special lunchtime briefing, addressing the recent arrival of Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and its impact on the ECM market. King will ask delegates if this launch will finally bring ECM to the masses and examines what early adopters should do to retain a competitive edge.

Closing each day will be Alan Pelz-Sharpe, who will focus on the ECM procurement process. He adds, “The AIIM Roadshow is Europe's premier event for all things ECM and document management. Its success is down to the fact that it breaks the typical trade show format and engages end users, buyers and vendors in constructive discussions and debates. On each day of the Roadshow I aim to provide something of a constructive counterpoint, reflecting on the bulk of my work advising buyers on how to get the best value from their existing and future ECM investments."

Vendor sessions across all locations will also be exhibiting the latest in ECM technology to demonstrate how information management tools and processes can work seamlessly with complementary technologies, such as enterprise search, web collaboration and business process management, to securely connect people with the information they need, when they need it and where they need it.

The AIIM Roadshow takes place at the following venues:

·   Monday 14th June: Thistle Hotel, Glasgow
·   Tuesday 15th June: Reebok Stadium, Bolton
·   Wednesday 16th June: National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham
·   Thursday 17th June: Brompton Hall, Earls Court, London
