RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon Coming to Chicago's Tanner Elementary in Grand Crossing on May 5

April 26, 2010 - PRLog -- The RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon will visit Henry O. Tanner Elementary School, 7350 S. Evans Ave. in the Greater Grand Crossing area on Chicago’s South Side on May 5, where the balloon crew will present an interactive educational program developed and sponsored by the RE/MAX metro Chicago real estate network.

The students at Tanner Elementary will learn about various aspects of ballooning, including its history and the scientific principles involved, and they will see a demonstration on how the balloon functions.  The RE/MAX balloon will visit more than 40 schools this spring in northern Illinois.

The program will be presented twice, at 10 and 11 a.m., in the school gymnasium to accommodate all 280 students.  The 75-foot-tall balloon envelope will be inflated with cold air, permitting students to walk inside it.  The presentation then will conclude outdoors with a demonstration of how the balloon basket and burners operate.
