By: New England FastFit “Most mothers just want fun, quality time with their children. So what better way to accomplish that than to spend the morning exercising with mom at the park?” says Powell, certified fitness coach and founder of FastFit. The mini camp is designed as a “team” training program for up to a family of four. The activities include fun exercises and a short hike designed to burn calories and tone the body. The program consists of two components that are vital for success: 1. Exercise that builds stronger muscle and bones, prevents weight gain and burns fat. 2. Motivation and support: a mother/child/ “Every team will walk away from this mini-camp with a better understanding of getting and staying healthy. There is so much fluff info and advertising targeted toward women and kids these days that is confusing and sometimes downright misleading. We’re here to set the record straight.” “In addition, the families can spend a fun day with their loved ones in a beautiful Connecticut park setting. I can’t think of a better way to spend time with mom!” The Train with Mom Boot Camp starts Sunday morning May 9th at 10:00am sharp. The workout and workshop will last up to an hour and a half. Teams are invited to spend the rest of the day at the park. Tables, playgrounds, a volleyball court, and soccer and baseball fields are available. A picnic lunch is a great idea. A $5/person donation for camp goes to Madonna Place of Norwich. The Madonna Place mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect by educating families. For more details or to make a donation, see www.madonnaplace.org or call 860.886.6600. “This will be a fun and social way of spending the morning with your mom while achieving something rewarding,” explains Powell.
