Videotron reached 1 million Cable Telephony subscribers in 2009

April 14, 2010 - PRLog -- Cable telephony market in Canada was led by Videotron with 1.014 million subscribers in 2009. The company added 35.000 subscribers in the last quarter, which represents a 3.6% growth.

Rogers and Shaw followed just behind with 937.000 and 923.300 subscribers respectively. Shaw registered an 11.3% growth (+ 93.600) due to acquisition of  Hamilton Cable System in Ontario. The fourth operator is Cogeco Cable with 302.200 cable telephone subscrcibers in 2009.

This market continues to attract subscribers, with the erosion of analogue telephony.
