| Amadeus Consulting Kicks off Summer Internship Program with the BMA Student Resume ReviewAmadeus Consulting, a Boulder custom software development company is honored to participate in the Colorado Business Marketers Association’s annual student resume and scholarship event.
By: Amadeus Consulting Colorado Business Marketing’s Annual Student Resume Review and Scholarship Event brings students and employers together to assist undergraduate and graduate students in preparing for the transition between school and a career. The event includes resume review, practice interviews, roundtable discussions, and scholarship opportunities. In addition to helping the students prepare for job hunting, Amadeus Consulting is also looking to hire one or two marketing students into its prestigious internship program. “Our marketing internship program is fairly new,” said Libby Myers, Marketing Coordinator at Amadeus Consulting, who is representing the company at the event. “But it has already been a huge success, both for us and for our interns. We work hard to make sure they benefit from the experience here, and they get as much hands-on practice as they are willing to undertake.” During the internship at Amadeus Consulting, students have the opportunity to work with the marketing team in creating solutions for clients as well as managing internal marketing campaigns for Amadeus Consulting’s custom software development services. Interns are also able to work extensively with search engine marketing, and get a hands-on approach to managing online campaigns, including pay-per-click campaigns, media campaigns, and search engine optimization. “This is a really great opportunity for students,” said Myers. “Even most top business schools are unable to give students a good hands-on experience to things like Google Adwords, and so students never really get the chance to learn about it in a practical sense. Instead, we take the time to teach them about it, and then give them a budget, a goal, and let them run their own campaign to really learn how it works. You just can’t get that anywhere else.” Interns are overseen by the marketing staff, which help guide and mentor the interns as well as create opportunities for them to learn. Amadeus Consulting’s marketing team also regularly consults for different companies to assist them with search visibility, online and search engine marketing, as well as other strategies and tactics. As a result, interns also get to look in on client projects to see how tools are implemented to create effective solutions for different client needs and markets. The marketing team works closely with the interns to define goals and objectives that meet the students’ interests. “The internship is fitted around the student’s interests and abilities, and is really designed to create a successful experience for them,” said Jay Millard, Vice President of Business Development and Marketing. “We have a standard framework and metrics for measuring success, but the intern ultimately determines what a ‘win’ – what a successful internship – looks like, and we build the internship around that goal.” Application for the internship is not exclusive to BMA students or attendees at this event. However those attending the workshop have the advantage of meeting with members of the Amadeus Consulting marketing team before applying for the position. The marketing team at Amadeus Consulting is excited to work with other local businesses and schools to help provide insights and guidance to this year’s BMA students.
