Princeton Global Network Recognizes Dawn Williams for Excellence in Education.

In recognition of professional distinction and to further acknowledge personal and academic achievements of note, Dawn Williams will be included in the 2010/2011 Princeton Global Network Registry.

Williams is the director of academic achievement for Saint Bede Academy, a renowned Catholic high school in Peru, IL that strives to prepare students for college and for life by welcoming them into a community of learning enriched by Christian values. With over twenty years of diagnostic teaching experience, Dawn is highly regarded for her dedication, professionalism, and instructional leadership. On a daily basis, she provides instructional support to a wide range of student ability levels. Dawn splits her day providing academic services for specific student needs and teaching in the regular classroom setting. She credits her success to her parents instilling a sense of work ethic and faith. She knows that if a person never gives up, possibilities open up, and success can be found if he or she is willing to look for it and work for it. Dawn received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and mathematics from Illinois Wesleyan University and went on to earn a Master of Education degree from DePaul University. She is a certified teacher of English, mathematics, and learning disabilities, and is both a reading and learning behavior specialist. She is also a qualified educational diagnostician and educational therapist with specific training in dyslexia and gifted students. Dawn is a member of, and an occasional presenter for, several esteemed affiliations including the International Conference on Technology and Education, International Dyslexia Association, Learning Disability Association, Illinois Association for Gifted Children, Illinois Council for Exceptional Children, Illinois Council for Teachers of English, and Illinois Council for Teachers of Mathematics. Dawn and her husband, Tom, are raising four children, two of whom have autism, which encourages her to be involved with charities such as the Easter Seals telethon, the Illinois Valley Autism Resource Center, and The Hammitt School. Dawn enjoys reading, attending activities with her children, and recreational sports when she has time.
