By: Dataxis Intelligence Modern Times Group, the Swedish based international broadcasting group, announced an agreement to acquire a further 35% of Viastrong Holding AB from Strong Media Group Ltd. Viastrong operates DTH satellite pay-tv platform in Ukraine. The service was launched in April 2008 as the first licensed digital premium DTH satellite operator in Ukraine. MTG had 216.000 subscribers in Ukraine and Baltics countries. This agreement follows the acquisition of a 50% stake in Raduga TV in Russia. It shows the interest of MTG in emerging market of Pay-TV businesses.
