By: Rock Mamma The 2010 DIY Music Festival co-sponsored by Bug Music, North America's largest independent music publisher, is part of the tenth annual DIY Convention: Do It Yourself in Film, Music & Books. The Music Festival occurs in Los Angeles, and is open to all types and genres of music as long as it is created without support or backing from a transnational corporation. The festival producer and industry author Bruce Haring sent these words of encouragement to the BLACK VELVET DELUXE band members in an email: “We have chosen another act for the 2010 DIY Music Festival. We're sorry that you were not selected, but feel proud that you were among seven finalists in a field of well over 200 entries. Please keep us in the loop on career developments going forward and we stand ready to assist in spreading the gospel on your music.” Carlos Castenada, Sal Acosta, Steve Burchell, Josh Lewis and Nate Beck, the band members of BLACK VELVET DELUXE, would also like to send a shout out of congratulations to Skyrocket Love and The Lost Boys as this year’s DIY Music Festival winning acts. # # # BLACK VELVET DELUXE takes you straight back to rock's pure roots.
