Taking it to the Web: The Integration of Skype as a Communication Tool

Financial planner Jeff Lapidus, The Retirement Coach, is taking advantage of Skype’s abilities to keep in touch with clients locally.

Feb. 11, 2010 - PRLog -- Most of us engage in the traditional forms of communicating with someone: telephone, email and in-person, on a daily basis, but in the past few years a new method of staying in touch has become increasingly popular.  Skype is a free software application that allows users to make free calls and have video conferences over the internet.  Many people think this is primarily used for long-distance communication, but financial planner Jeff Lapidus, The Retirement Coach, is taking advantage of Skype’s abilities to keep in touch with clients locally.

This allows for instant, face-to-face discussion that is more personal than a straight phone conversation—and nearly as simple.  For example, say a client has a quick question: instead of scheduling an appointment to come in, he or she could acquire the same personal service by simply logging in to their Skype account.  This can save gas, time and hassle.

In addition to working from his office in Clayton, Lapidus is able to communicate anywhere in Arizona, making him much more accessible than many other financial planners.  Whether near or far, you can rest assure that Jeff is watching your money and check if need be.

All anyone needs to communicate with Jeff, or Skype for that matter, is a computer, a Skype log-in, and a webcam.  In fact, many times Lapidus gives first-time visitors a webcam to encourage Skypeing.  This opens the doors not only for communication about your finances, but with any relatives, friends or business associates with whom you would like to stay in contact.

So enjoy your free time and save your gas by Skypeing with The Coach.

Note: Skype can be used to communicate only; important, confidential written communication and/or documents cannot be transferred.
