Tennessee Rehabilitation Center Awards Brentwood Business

Jan. 28, 2010 - PRLog -- BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (January, 27 2010) – Tennessee Department of Human Services, Division of Rehabilitation Services, and the TRC selected Swiftwick in Brentwood, as “Employer of the Year” and Swiftwick Employee Salvatore Pellegrino as “Employee of the Year”.  Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson, Franklin Mayor John Schroer, and the Tennessee Rehabilitation Center leadership presented the “Employer of the Year” and “TRC Employee of the Year” awards Tuesday in the Franklin TRC offices.

Swiftwick and Pellegrino were recognized as part of the TRC’s Community Employment Recognition program. Swiftwick has worked closely with the TRC for more than 2 years, hiring employees and integrating the vocational program’s recruits back into the work force.

“It’s really about putting people to work in Tennessee,” said Swiftwick CEO Mark Cleveland.

Sal, as he’s affectionately known to friends and co-workers, was hired in May of 2009 at Swiftwick after successfully completing the Employee Development program at the Franklin TRC.  He works independently as a warehouse and packaging specialist. Operations Manager Meghan Sisko and co-workers agree Sal is a reliable employee and has proven to be a ‘packaging perfectionist’.  

“Watching Sal’s growth over the past year has been a great experience,” Sisko said. “He has had his ups and downs at work, just as we all do, but I’m proud that he has stuck with us, continued to work hard, and become a very important and integral part of our team.”

The Tennessee Rehabilitation Center at Franklin is part of the Tennessee Facility Network of Vocational Rehabilitation Services.
