Could Motoring insurance be cheaper & Would you be interested if it was, I Certainly would be.

A young girl she skidded in the snow and hit a kerb & bollard, insured comprehensive no worries, ah £700.00 excess, the repair estimate £1250. Not to mention the no claims bonus. So what’s the alternative?

Jan. 6, 2010 - PRLog -- In my humble opinion insurance companies should be offering cheaper insurance for vehicles of a certain age (say over 5years ) on the condition in the event of a claim the insured would then in their own time source second hand parts (maybe even in the same colour ) Still using the same insurance approved body shop to get a satisfactory repair done .
Now i do appreciate their are some second hand parts that are just not economically viable to use but their are lots & lots that are, thus saving money for the insurance company, the insured, and saving the envoirment.
Now the car in question was a Peugeot 306 1.4cc year 2001, parts needed Front bumper +mouldings, Head light, Water radiator, Air conditioning radiator, Grill, bonnet, Fans & cowling, Approx £800.00.
Second hand in the right colour they cost £300.00, no painting so further saving in labour, Paint and materials.
Total repair costs £475.00 and everybody is happy, or are they. Well the insurance company could reduce the excess to say £150.00 so saving the insured £550.00 & themselves £775.00
