Follow on Google News | New Managing Editor for Multimedia Information and TechnologyMultimedia Information and Technology journal has appointed a new Managing Editor. Catherine Dhanjal replaces Lyndon Pugh who edited the journal for almost ten years following Dr Anthony Hugh Thompson who was editor from 1991-2000.
By: Multimedia Information and Technology “Lyndon Pugh and Dr Anthony Hugh Thompson have created an interesting, well-read and professional journal. We will seek to maintain those high standards going forward whilst also responding to comments from subscribers – and the February 2010 issue will carry a survey to find out readers’ views and desires for the magazine’s contents and our online news offering,” comments Catherine. Catherine has a strong background in professional journalism and marketing and has worked with organisations in the technology sector for over 13 years, with a particular interest in the library, information management and elearning sectors. Lyndon said, “We are confident that the journal is in safe hands and will continue to develop its coverage of key issues.” Recent items have covered use of iTunes at Birmingham City University, Trades Union history going online for learners, updates on Dreamweaver, the virtual Codex Sinaiticus (the world’s oldest surviving Christian bible), search engines, book and product reviews. Articles, news, case studies and products for review on the subject of multimedia, ICT and digital libraries, are welcomed and approaches should be made to Catherine.dhanjal@ The journal is published quarterly in print and online by the Multimedia Information and Technology Group of Cilip. Standalone subscriptions are also available at £70 per annum.
