FinSoul: Leading Chinese solar panel producer to begin production in Canada.

Dec. 7, 2009 - PRLog -- FinSoul has recently learned of Chinese solar panel producer, Canadian Solar Inc’s recent announcement to build a $23 million manufacturing plant in the Canadian province of Ontario.

The company disclosed that it is already in the process of site selection for the plant that will produce 200MW modules. The facility is likely to create 500 manufacturing jobs and turn out enough capacity to power around 60 000 homes annually.

The first phase, FinSoul understands, is due to begin in early 2010 with further stages to follow, and may well become one of North America’s largest solar manufacturing institutions.

FinSoul research revealed that Ontario has recently initiated North America’s most comprehensive and generous set of feed-in tariffs, guaranteeing solar, wind and water generated electricity sellers fixed, higher than market prices for the next 20 years. These premium prices make it easier for developers to recoup their initial start-up costs, while the rate certainty increases the banks confidence in granting loans.

Presently the solar energy equipment production industry in Canada is miniscule but other foreign firms are eyeing the Canadian market including South Korea’s Samsung Group, who have also expressed an interest in Ontario.
Canadian Solar’s announcement comes after several Chinese solar firms reported better than expected earnings and the demand for green energy systems was rebounding after a quiet year due to the global financial crisis.
