Four DC-area high school basketball teams will hit the hardwood Wednesday, to fight for bragging rights at the 3rd Annual Caron Butler High School Basketball Classic. Montrose Christian School and Roosevelt Senior High School begin play at 6 p.m. At 8 p.m., Coolidge Senior High School and Dematha Catholic School hit the floor for a rematch. During the inaugural Classic Dematha beat Coolidge and claimed the bragging rights associated with winning the coveted Butler Classic Championship. This year, Coolidge will try to beat Dematha on its home floor. In addition, the Classic offers schools an opportunity to raise money for their schools by selling tickets for the event at the school. Proceeds from tickets sold will support the schools’ athletic programs. Tickets will also be available at the door. Butler has also partnered with Bread for the City to hold a canned food drive. Attendees who bring canned goods to the event will receive a certificate for tickets to a future Wizards games.
