Experts join to urge radical change in EU R&D and innovation

As the European Parliament prepares for hearings on the newly named Commission, 5 groups of policy experts will issue a joint statement at the European Parliament on 7 December, urging a new approach to research and innovation policy in Europe.
 
Dec. 4, 2009 - PRLog -- As the European Parliament prepares for hearings on the newly named Commission, 5 groups of policy experts will issue a joint statement 7 December urging a new approach to research and innovation policy in Europe.

Participants at the briefing:

• Maria da Graça Carvalho, Member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, EPP Group, EP
• John Wood, Chair, European Research Area Board, an advisory body to Commissioner Potočnik
• Luc Soete, Chair, Knowledge-Based Economy Expert Group and Director, United Nations University-MERIT
• Gernot Klotz, Member, European Technology Platforms Expert Group, convened to report to DG Research
• Richard L. Hudson, CEO and Editor, Science Business Publishing Ltd.

The briefing is co-hosted by Maria da Graça Carvalho MEP (ITRE committee) and James Elles MEP (Budget committee).

The briefing will take place in room 6Q1 in the European Parliament, 60 Rue Wiertz, Brussels 1000 (Antonio Spinelli building, entrance on Rue Wiertz).
