IEI Announces the Latest 5.7” RISC-based EM / Mifare Access Control Terminal for Home Automation

Nov. 18, 2009 - PRLog -- The integration of all household electronics and the ability to control them from a central location are the essential elements of a modern "smart home". Household appliances and functions are being automated, allowing lighting, appliances, air-conditioning, security systems, monitoring systems, telephones, intercoms and anything with remote control capabilities to be centrally controlled. The latest 5.7” RISC-based EM / Mifare Control Terminal, ACT-457A, with the built-in RFID reader, will work with EM or Mifare Cards / Tags, ideal for the control system on residential accommodation, light commercial and small industrial applications.

The ACT-457A is an all-in-one controller and proximity reader with built-in Microsoft Windows CE5.0 enabling it to be easily installed, set-up and programmed without an additional on-site computer. ACT-457A also offers a large 5.7“ color touch display with a resolution of 640x480, allowing users to experience increased ease of data input and overall readability.

By integrated with RMI Alchemy™ technology, the ACT-457A enables users to play DVD quality video efficiently at full-frame rates with low power consumption. The integrated MAE (Media Acceleration Engine) supports common digital video media including MPEG1, 2, 4, DivX, and WMV9, and delivers full D1 resolution without the need for a DSP or specialized coding.

The sophisticated housing of the ACT terminal is hard plastic with IP64 front panel protection. With anti-shock, anti-vibration shields and extended temperature -10ºC~55ºC system design, the ACT-457A is secured against vandalism and protected against extreme environmental conditions.

The bi-communication also plays crucial role in home automation. The ACT-457A is unsurpassed in functionality with built-in 2W speakers and microphone for bi-direction voice message, 300K pixel web-camera with low-light functions for real-time image access and capture or facial identification. The ACT-457A can be applied but not limited to cashless payment system in vending machines, club membership management, and RFID automated parking control system.
