Barite Mining in China

China is very rich in barite resource which is distributed in 21 provinces (areas) all over the country. The proved reserves mineral fields’ amount is 103; total mineral reserves amount is 0.36 billion tons which ranks first in the world.
 
Nov. 11, 2009 - PRLog -- China is very rich in barite resource which is distributed in 21 provinces (areas) all over the country. The proved reserves mineral fields’ amount is 103; total mineral reserves amount is 0.36 billion tons which ranks first in the world. As for province (area) reserves, Guiyang province is most rich in barite with reserves in 34% of whole country reserves, provinces (areas) of Hunan, Guangxi, Gansu, Shanxi take second place. The reserves of above five provinces occupied 80% of whole country reserves. The main mineral deposit genetic type is sedimentation (such as Guizhou Tianzhu, Hunan Gongxi, Guangxi Banbi, Hubei Liulin barite mine) which occupied 60% of total reserves. Besides that, there has volcano-sedimentation (such as Gansu Jing Tieshan associated barite mine), hydrothermal alteration (Guangdong Shuiling mine). The main sulfide ore mineragenetic epoch is Paleozoic Era and some of them are Sinian period and Mesozoic-Cainozoic Era.
