Beacon Hill, Inc. releases Signup as Open Source

Nov. 9, 2009 - PRLog -- Beacon Hill, Inc. a New York software consultancy released today its Signup application as Open Source.  Signup is a simple signup application for the web.

Today, most web sites provide a mechanism for a visitor to submit their email address to allow the site's owner to inform them of changes or other business events. Signup is an application that a business can use to provide this functionality.

"We recently found a number of new clients that did not have signup forms on their web sites. They wanted one but did not know how to get such functionality on their site easily. Since, we were building same functionality for a number of clients we thought that open sourcing the project would allow other business to benefit", said Brad Lucas, President of Beacon Hill, Inc.

The complete system is downloadable and includes the full source code for inspection and customization. A run time is included in the download so the system can be tried without having to rebuild.

Those users interested in building Signup should be familiar with Ant, Java, Spring and will need an existing database system in place to store user email address.
