Houston Students Pitch Original Scripts to Famed Director

Nov. 1, 2009 - PRLog -- Houston, TX--- Robert Townsend, actor/director/producer known for films such as “Hollywood Shuffle” and “The Five Heartbeats,” will teach a “Master Class” on November 14th from 5 pm to 9 pm at the Empowerment Community Center. Townsend’s “Master Class” is presented in Houston by the new Je’Caryous Johnson Acting School.

Townsend, who has directed such talents as Beyonce Knowles, James Earl Jones, Bill Cosby, Eddie Murphy, and Halle Berry, will discuss insider tips on writing, directing, producing, and acting.  One lucky attendee will be selected to pitch his or her original script idea to Townsend.  Local aspiring actors, writers and producers are encouraged to register immediately for this event.

As a passionate visionary, trailblazer and journeyman, Townsend, transcends every medium he touches with an undeniable magic. Most recently, Townsend, added president and CEO of a television network to an impressive list showcasing his talents as an actor, director, writer, comedian, and producer.

Je’Caryous Johnson, a native Houstonian, has garnered national acclaim as playwright, author, and CEO of I’m Ready Productions (www.imreadyproductions.com).  Johnson’s current venture as a feature film director was the impetus for the Je’Caryous Johnson Acting School as he soon realized Houston’s talent was being pulled away by east and west coast markets.

The Robert Townsend “Master Class” is a must for anyone wishing to learn more about breaking into the film, stage and television industry. Tickets for the “Master Class” are $75 per person. The Je’Caryous Johnson Acting School is seeking sponsorship support to invite underprivileged students the opportunity to attend the workshop.
