Leading IT Event Unveils New Technologies

Oct. 20, 2009 - PRLog -- Over 70 IT manufacturers and suppliers took part in Misco’s annual customer Expo, the event that showcases the latest’s IT innovations available to large enterprises and SME’s. The event, now in its fifth year, was held at Old Billingsgate, London on the 14thof October and was once again sponsored by Dennis publishing. A record attendance of over 1100 business customers from the public and private sector attended, making it the most successful Misco Expo to date. The event was entertaining, informative and enjoyable for everyone who attended.

"It was a fantastic day, great to speak to the manufactures direct and I came away from it with many new ideas on how Misco can help the school push the boundaries in new technologies," said Leigh McGarvie, Network Manager at Prestwich Arts College.

A unique programme of seminars included leading industry speakers from HP, Microsoft, APC, Wyse Technologies and Apple, exploring the issues that organisations face in today's information-rich world when considering their IT infrastructure.

Chris Hirst, Product Marketing Manager – Projection, Displays & Digital Signage from Sony UK commented, ‘“The show was extremely well attended by key personnel in the decision making process across a multitude of vertical markets and it was essential for Sony to be a part of such an event.”

Martin Kent, Territory Manager UK & Northern Europe, from Hannspree agreed, ‘We found the show very worthwhile, to speak directly to end-users of every level is hugely important to Hannspree. We will certainly participate in future shows.’

The Misco ESP Zone featured an end-to-end virtualisation demonstration which included how to provision a server, server management, fail over and fail back of IT services on the fly.

The Misco Expo was followed in the evening by the annual Star Awards, an event hosted this year by one of Britain’s top stand up comedians and actor Stephen K. Amos.  The Star Awards celebrate the support and commitment of Misco’s vendors by category. This year’s Star Awards winners were:
