Internet Radio Station to Create All Female Artists Show

Oct. 19, 2009 - PRLog -- Diva Status Radio honors the legends and pioneers of the female emcee game, including independent music artists that are on their rise to diva status. Diva Status Radio will be introduced as a two-hour radio show that will air on Wutz Hood Radio in 2010, with plans for expansion in 2011. The launch party will take place on May 29, 2010 in Tempe, Arizona, with a live music showcase that will feature local and national recording artists.

"The creation of Diva Status Radio started with one nagging question. Is the world ready for an all female radio show?" DJ Hipnotik, the host of Hood Access, posed just that question. She added, "I just got tired of hearing people complain about the lack of female emcees in the industry, with no changes taking effect. When I began my research several months ago, it was rare to find an all female roster for a live Hip Hop event. Equally rare are the radio stations that would play tracks from female artists in frequent rotation. Diva Status Radio might be setting a precedence by creating a show that only plays music from female recording artists."

This is not going to be an ordinary radio show, where music is continuously played. There will be on-air interviews, special show themes, and events that will support the format. "I'm not trying to turn this into a political arena," said DJ Hipnotik. "My goal is to create something of worth and value for everyone involved. This is to raise awareness and help female artists expose their music to the world; and to get the respect they deserve as a recording artist."
