Part II: In a world of TV & DVDs, The Novel Fights Back

Vote for diet turkey on Tuesdays. Better yet, vote for the title of a new Lenny the Lobster tale if Chicago earns the 2016 Olympic spot. Read how here now.

Sept. 29, 2009 - PRLog -- When was the last time you got to help pick a story title?

DLShiloh.com announced today that if Chicago wins the host city spot for the 2016 Olympics, writer D.L. Shiloh will write a new short story in honor of the victory. But there's a new twist.

In Step Two of Where the Novel Fights Back, the almost-made-to-order short story will feature the further adventures of that lovable lush, cigarette-smoking 6-foot lobster, Lenny the Lobster. Lenny is featured on the cover of “Pookoo.”

The public may vote for the intended story's title at http://www.dlshiloh.com/about2.html.

“Once a writer finishes a work, it takes a life of its own with the reader's imagination” Shiloh said. “So the next step for the Written Word is true interaction – the public is picking the title. There is a Step Three in this process and it's a good one, almost as good as hot butter. If this isn't incentive to select the Windy City, I don't know if anything will help.”

“Pookoo” is a satire available in paperback or online at Amazon.com or as a PDF from Shiloh's web sites.

It took 17 years for Shiloh to write the satire, which was published in 2008. “I haven't written a bite on Lenny the Lobster material since. But I know there's a real hunger for new material.”

The IOC selects the host city October 2. Chicago is competing with Madrid, Rio De Janiero and Tokyo.
