World’s finest blogger Louis Gray comes to Ecademy London

Business is happening online, it is global and it is being found through online conversations…

Sept. 11, 2009 - PRLog -- At a time when businesses need to learn new ways of finding business and people need to find work, Ecademy is flying in one of the world’s experts in Social Media to help them achieve this.

Regarded by many as the most authentic, consistent and reliable blogger on earth, Louis Gray is set to fly into London for a whistle-stop tour to deliver a unique social media training programme at an exclusive Ecademy event in London on 17th September 2009.

Louis will deliver the day-long training course at the prestigious Grosvenor Hotel, where he will reveal the power of ‘real-time’, explaining how to use RSS Feeds, Google Reader, Twitter, Friendfeed, Facebook and Socialmedian. The afternoon session will feature blogging, participating and broadcasting, social aggregation and blogging tips and tricks, drawing on Louis’ innate understanding of the ‘new world’ of doing business.

Spurred on by the belief that people need to use more untraditional types of communication, as people turn to their peers for trusted content, Louis says:

“The way we consume and produce information in this rapidly-changing, fast-paced world has made a dramatic shift in the last few years. People worldwide are turning away from the stale platitudes of traditional media, and trusting less in our business leaders and government. Instead, we are turning to our peers, and leveraging our growing social connections to find trusted content, discover information more quickly, and connect with people around the globe who share similar interests.”

Louis is the managing director of new media for Paladin Advisors Group, a new consultancy started in June 2009. At the beginning of 2006, Louis created his blog www.louisgray.com to write about the world of Silicon Valley and web technologies, including social media, and his love of what he was discovering each day. Louis says he never set out to be visible; it was purely a hobby, sharing what he was learning.

In April 2008, Louis launched through his blog the start-up company, SocialMedian, a new site that he discovered that went on to enormous success for the founder, Jason Goldberg. Jason sold SocialMedian less than a year later to Xing, a German based Business Network for $7.5million. Louis was also the first person to write about TweetDeck (a utility to manage your Twitter network) on his blog. He was also among the first to adopt and evangelize FriendFeed.

Penny Power, founder of Ecademy and author of ‘Know Me, Like Me, Follow Me’ (Headlines Business Plus, £14.99) says:

“Louis is an excellent example of someone who is gaining a ‘Know Me’ status on the internet, he has great visibility and his brand is trusted and liked, his blog is being advocated and ‘Twittered’ all the time. Louis is an example of someone who uses his Blog as the centre of his activities and I am looking forward to learning more from the Master of blogging!”

The Social Media Training course costs just £199.00 including VAT and places are limited so early booking is advisable to avoid disappointment. This fee includes a signed copy of Ecademy founder Penny Power’s new book ‘Know Me, Like Me, Follow Me’ (Headline Business Plus, £14.99) and attendees are invited to join Penny Power for an evening of networking at The Grosvenor from 6pm.

Ecademy

Ecademy connects business people all over the world. It is a self-development, business and branding tool, which enable business people to achieve immediate visibility. The relationships, advocates and knowledge subsequently shared through the network provides individuals with the credibility they need to grow their business.

Ecademy’s core intention is to help business people to be more successful and promotes the values of a business community who no longer wish to be broadcast to, but demand engagement and conversation.

Founded in 1998 by husband and wife team Thomas and Penny Power, Ecademy is privately owned and sustains itself through subscription, with only ten percent of Ecademy’s revenue coming from advertising and partnerships. The Ecademy business model is a classic example of a 21st Century business, operating virtually, with minimal operational costs.
