UniBul Merchant Services Adds PayPal, Google Checkout, Amazon Payments, eBillme and eChecks

July 28, 2009 - PRLog -- UniBul Merchant Services announced today the addition of PayPal, Google Checkout, Amazon Payments, eBillme and eChecks to its existing lineup of payment options.  UniBul Merchant Services provides payment processing services to US-based businesses operating in both card-present and card-not-present environments.  PayPal, Google Checkout, Amazon Payments, eBillme and eCheck acceptance, however are specifically designed to complement and enhance the payment acceptance capabilities of eCommerce and Mail Order and Telephone Order (MO / TO) merchants.  Merchants will have these services available to them through the Global Gateway and Virtual Terminal.

Studies have proved that the availability of alternative payment options in card-not-present environment, as well as in card-present environment, substantially increases sales conversions by enabling consumers who are either uncomfortable or unable to pay by credit cards to pay in another way.  ECommerce merchants can add these additional payment options on their websites while MO / TO merchants will have them available on the Virtual Terminal.

Electronic check (eCheck) acceptance appeals to both merchants and consumers, although in a different way.  Providing an alternative to credit card payments helps merchants reach out to potential customers who do not have credit cards or do not use them in a card-not-present environment because of security concerns.  Moreover, eCheck acceptance costs merchants substantially less than credit cards and are often the payment of choice in recurring payment plans.  From a consumer point of view, eChecks provide convenience and are sometimes the only payment option available as bad credit history or other issues may take all credit-related payment forms out of the picture.

While it is a fact that when available, alternative payments replace some sales that would otherwise have been completed using credit cards, this cannibalizing effect is more than offset by the wider customer base that they help create.  PayPal, Google Checkout, Amazon Payments and eBillme are especially appealing to consumers who are not comfortable sharing their personal information on the internet or over the telephone.
