July 27, 2009 - PRLog -- Discouraged that saving the environment is about as likely as Amy Winehouse singing at the Queen of England’s annual birthday celebration?  Bummed out that there are more people waiting in line for Krispy Kremes at Harrods than are taking action to avert eco-disaster? Down in the dumps that the news about the green movement is about as riveting as watching the changing of the guard?   Well, if you’ve got a couple of minutes, Timberland invites you to check out a video vignette about Earthkeeper Heroes Mark Shearer and Nick Gardner. It’s bound to restore your faith that the green movement is alive and well in London!

Mark and Nick are emerging change agents of Generation Y who have started Project Dirt (http://www.projectdirt.com), an interactive “ecommunity” in London. They’ve set out to show the world that there’s plenty to be optimistic about in the grass-roots environmental change arena.  This video is part of a series of Earthkeeper Hero short films created by Timberland to inspire people everywhere to join the global march to sustainability by getting involved with real-world environmental heroes at http://www.changents.com/earthkeepers.

Timberland joined forces with Changents.com to develop Earthkeeper Heroes, a program to enable environmental change that is led bottom-up by passionate individuals, their solutions, and their actions.  In its second year, Timberland Earthkeeper Heroes combines the amazing, ongoing stories of a new breed of environmental heroes on the "front lines" with a cutting edge social media experience.  The result is a global platform where people around the world can directly interact with and help this generation’s most exciting agents of environmental change, creating an engine that "breaks" these exciting up-and-comers onto the global environmental scene.
