Charge Over Guard Stabbing Raid

July 4, 2009 - PRLog -- A 27-year-old man has been charged with an attempted robbery outside a Lancashire supermarket in which a licensed security guard was stabbed.

The guard was delivering money to a cash machine outside Booths in Longton when he was attacked by two men with a machete.

He suffered a stab wound to his leg and his colleague was hit in the face.

A 27-year-old man from the Woolton area of Liverpool has been charged with attempted robbery.

He was remanded in custody by Chorley magistrates to appear at Preston Crown Court in September.

Three men aged 23, 27,and 31, all from Liverpool, who were arrested over the incident, are currently on bail pending further enquiries.

Both guards were treated in hospital.
