By: CAIA Association Membership Surpasses 3,100 Designees Despite Volatile Markets, Investment Professionals Continue to Seek Enhanced ‘Alternatives’ AMHERST, MASS, June 29, 2009— The Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association (CAIA) welcomes the Class of March 2009, a group of 650 new members who received the CAIA designation during the most recent examination period. With the addition of these new members, more than 3,100 financial service industry professionals around the world have earned the CAIA designation. “We enthusiastically welcome this distinguished cohort of CAIA designees who through exceptional perseverance have demonstrated their professional commitment to the Alternative Industry.” said Craig Asche, Executive Director. The list of new members from the Class of March 2009 is available via the CAIA website. Mr. Asche also stated, “Performance results over the last year have only furthered the rationale for incorporating alternative investment vehicles into one’s portfolio. But to do so intelligently requires a deep and comprehensive understanding of the unique risk and return attributes associated with these investments. Nothing speaks to that understanding as forcefully as the four letters CAIA. As is the case with all our membership, this latest class of inductees has set itself apart from their industry peers; an accomplishment that will remain with each and every one throughout their professional career.” # # # (END) About the CAIA Association The Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association® # # # The Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association® End
