Israeli Diamond Portal Reports: DATA – Tools that Make a Diamantaire’s Life Easier

June 28, 2009 - PRLog -- DATA, an Israeli company established in 2001, has developed several sophisticated tools that make the diamantaire's life considerably easier.



Ziv Shaked, the company's marketing director, explains about the different tools developed by his company: The first machine, called the DATA Diamond Count, counts rough or polished diamonds up to 12 millimeters at a rate of up to 80,000 diamonds per hour. After the count, the diamonds can be transferred to plastic bags or to measuring cups. The machine is compact and can be placed on a table or a desktop.



Shaked explains: "Why count diamonds by hand if there is a machine that can do it with a precision level of 99.9%? The information from the count can be directly transferred to the computer using Bluetooth technology and barcode labels can be printed automatically. In addition, the computer can be connected to scale and that data can also be combined into the database. This is an essential tool for any diamantaire."

Another tool, the Vibe130, weighs polished stones and measures their diameter. This product is connected with Bluetooth technology, so the data can be stored and transferred to any inventory software. One big advantage is the tool's weight (only 125 grams) which makes the Vibe130 portable, even for trips abroad.



The two products are protected by an international patent. Shaked emphasized: "From a cost-value standpoint, the tools are very worthwhile and the return on the investment is very quick."



Yuval Lichi is the company's CEO and the project manager is Ari Tidhar – a third generation member of the diamond industry, who is closely acquainted with the needs of the industry.



These days the company is developing another tool – an automated sorting machine – which is expected to come on the market in a few months. DATA is also striving to develop similar tools for the gemstone industry. In order to promote the efforts in this direction, the company is working on development of additional tools that have added value and great mobility, and can be operated almost anywhere.



DATA's sophisticated equipment is sold all over the world, including Europe, Japan and India.
