Journey to coveted place in prestigious European
Soccer Academy begins in Detroit, Windsor

WINDSOR, Ontario –Steve Nijjar and Jalal Merhi are pleased to announce that the search for the next soccer star returns for a second season this summer when the reality TV series Soccer Dreams 2: Creating Champions visits cities in the U.S., Canada and U.K. to find 40 top young soccer players, one of which will earn a one year placement with FootballCV Academy, a top European soccer academy.

‘We want to show the audience the passion and drive of these young men, who are willing to do what it takes to achieve their dream,’ says Steve Nijjar creator of the Soccer Dreams series.  ‘Everyone has a dream and Soccer Dreams 2: Creating Champions will help realize it for one lucky young man, while taking the audience on a rollercoaster ride of emotions as viewers follow the players’ ups and downs from registration to the final cut.’

Soccer Dreams 2: Creating Champions will travel to two cites in the U.S. (Chicago and Detroit) and three in Canada (Toronto, Windsor and Ottawa) with a crossing of the Atlantic Ocean in between to FootballCV Academy in Irthlingborough, Northhamptonshire, England.

Once selected, the 40 players will advance to the ‘House of Champions’ in Ottawa and FootballCV Academy.  In Canada’s capital, the players will live together for a week and be trained under the watchful eyes of a FIFA licensed agent and top coaches from across North America. The coaches will  put the players through a series of demanding skills, drills and games to determine the players that have the mettle to realize their dream.  The final stage will see the group of 40 pared down to 16 players, who will spend a another week at the academy.  One young man will be chosen from this group and move one step closer to playing professional soccer in the world’s most high profile league.

‘I can’t think of a better place to kick off the Soccer Dreams journey than the Detroit-Windsor area,’ said Nijjar.  ‘The people in the border cities are known for their spirit and work ethic, just two of the many key qualities that players will need to achieve their goal.‘  Soccer Dreams 2: Creating Champions will be in Windsor on June 13 at Ecole Secondaire L’Essor before crossing the border to Detroit’s Schoolcraft College the next day for tryouts on June 14.
