Bucketbeats! Teaches Kids How To Drum Without The High Cost, No Music Background Necessary

Unique youth activity is gaining the interests of parents, teachers, and young people with it's ability to teach kids how to play drums without requiring high investments in instruments.

May 18, 2009 - PRLog -- Memphis, TN– BucketBeats! Is a brand new youth activity hoping to provide kids an outlet to explore all of that tapping, banging, and air-drumming without having to come up with the amount of cash needed for instruments or expensive lessons.  Utilizing household items as drums (much in the same fashion as Stomp) kids have the chance to be taught by the best percussion teachers Memphis has to offer.

Bucketbeats! is presented by The Home Depot, Amro Music, and The Memphis Drum Shop.

The summer season begins on June 13th, at Crichton College in Memphis. The deadline for early enrollment is June 1st.

Practices will be every Saturday (except for July 4th) from 10am until 11:30am and performances will be periodic throughout the season. A schedule will be handed out at the first meeting.

Anyone interested in BucketBeats! can sign up online at www.bucketbeatsofmemphis.com.  There you will find all information, frequently asked questions, and sign up options.

Aside from practicing once a week, BucketBeats! will be performing at least once a month during the season.  Performance venues will include Autozone Park with the Memphis Redbirds, The Liberty Bowl and The FedEx Forum with the University of Memphis Tigers athletics, The Pink Palace, Amro Music events, local football games, and events in conjunction with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Founded by Adam Clay, a nationally well-known composer, arranger, and music educator out of Memphis, BucketBeats! is going to be an exciting, inexpensive activity for kids ages 8-16. The cool part is that there is no percussion background necessary.  Kids will show up and be taught from scratch about playing drums, and will be a part of a show that will perform all through Memphis.

Major Sponsors, including The Home Depot, Amro Music, and The Memphis Drumshop have joined the BucketBeats! team.  Clay has assembled a world-class staff that includes the finest music educators in the Memphis area.
