Book Author Portrays Neurologist as Protagonist in a Spy Series

April 24, 2009 - PRLog -- An intensive medical research on Alzheimer’s disease intertwined with espionage and terrorism serves as the backdrop of David B. Rosenfield’s detective novels highlighting Dick Swept, the neurologist protagonist.

The self-published author describes his medical-espionage thriller as ‘a series of increasingly violent events’ resulting in “multiple surprises as Swept exercises his physical and cognitive skills to improve our world.”

Swept’s encounters with ex-KGB agents, Russian scientists and a Chechen spy while struggling to get his superior’s full support for his research on a drug that alters brain process memory is the spotlight of Rosenfield’s first book ‘Dick Swept, M.D.: Tomorrow, the World’.

‘History Became a Lie’, the second book, involves twists on how the hero deals with an embryonic terrorist movement, retrieval of the alleged Iraqi Weapons of Mass Destruction in Chechnya, the CIA, the president of the United States and beautiful women.

“The neurologist-turned-spy battles evil, increasingly difficult to define, in the midst of Alzheimer’s disease research and struggles within his personal life,” Rosenfield said of his main character.

David B. Rosenfield, is a licensed neurologist.  He is the Director of the Speech and Language Center and Director of the EMG and Motor Control Laboratory at the Neurological Institute, The Methodist Hospital, and Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas.

The author is also Professor of Neurology at the Weill Medical Cornell University and served as a Major in the United States Army Reserves.  He has published numerous scientific articles and used to have a weekly book review column.

Dr. Rosenfield lives with his family in Houston, Texas.  His books are published by Xlibris.
