Repertoire requirements are as follows: One work or portion of a work (such as a movement) of the participant’ SIMF Facebook fans will be the acting “judges;” so, audience members wishing to act as adjudicators need to visit the Strings International Music Festival’s Facebook and sign up as fans ASAP (please do not post any opinions or votes of the videos on the actual Facebook page – any such postings will be deleted and not considered.) The competition winner will be announced at the 2009 Strings International Music Festival Opening Recital, Sunday, June 14th, and will receive a $500 scholarship to the 2010 Strings International Music Festival, a solo performance opportunity (details to be announced), as well as the opportunity of posting his/her winning video on the SIMF website (visited by classical music fans from around the world) at http://www.stringscamp.com. The winner’s presence is not required, but the announcement will be made in front of a full audience. This is an excellent opportunity for classical musicians of all ages to gain performance exposure – as well as competition experience.
