Strategic Guru’s Chief Brainstormer Guest Speaker at Durham Tech

April 1, 2009 - PRLog -- Cary, N.C. – Strategic Guru, a Triangle-based marketing and communications firm, announced that Chief Brainstormer Carolyn Rhinebarger has been selected to speak about strategic marketing planning at Durham Technical Community College.  Her seminar will focus on developing a strategic marketing plan that gets results. Rhinebarger will draw on her industry expertise to cover marketing strategy and strategic communications to students through the college’s Small Business Center (SBC).

Rhinebarger’s talk is free to the public and will be offered on Tuesday, April 7th at the SOUTHBank Building in downtown Durham from 6 – 9 p.m. She will cover the six key elements of an effective marketing plan:

1.   identifying industry trends
2.   a new way to look at competition
3.   selecting target markets
4.   creating a powerful market positioning statement
5.   a marketing math exercise that helps entrepreneurs develop realistic sales goal
6.   development of a layered tactical approach to marketing
