March 23, 2009 - PRLog -- Doha, Qatar: Momenta Global, the leading Technology, Media and Telecom Company in the region, today announced that it is holding a pioneering workshop on global practices in e-training in India from 23rd – 27th March 2009. This workshop, being held at Momenta’s e-learning development centre in Bangalore,  is a new initiative to help participants such as senior executives from the GCC’s leading e-training institutes understand and review global best practices such as AICC and SCORM in e-training.

“e-learning /e-training initiatives have blossomed in the region and deployment  in educational, corporate and public sectors is on the rise. At the same time, there is an urgent need to adopt global standards in e-learning that enable achievement of learning objectives in an exemplary manner. Challenges remain in terms of design and development of these courses and the e-training workshop has been designed to address many of these niggling aspects that e-training institutes face today,” says Ms. Meera Kaul Sawhney, COO of Momenta Global.

“CSBs and IADs are institutes which are responsible for training all government employees in their respective countries. These institutes have actively incorporated e-learning courses as part of their training fixtures and are looking to enhance their e-training programs by adopting new tools and methods. This workshop is expected to go a long way in enhancing their understanding of the best tools being employed in e-training globally as well as review various pedagogical approaches,” Ms. Sawhney adds.

Momenta has been able to congregate industry best practices experts for the event in Bangalore where delegates will be able to discuss and gain an understanding of global eContent standards to be better equipped to deal with and handle the eTraining requirements within their own countries. The workshop will also feature sessions that delve into pedagogy standards for developing eContent, technical standards for designing eContent and standards for buying readymade eContent.

“The workshop will help familiarize these organisations with global best practices and help them draft out standards for the GCC region.  They will also be able to establish standards that enable them to collaborate and share content units amongst the GCC,” Ms. Sawhney explains.

Several industry experts are expected to address different topics at these workshops as guest speakers. Their sessions will provide insights on various aspects relevant to the use of eContent in an organisation.

Reputed e-training institutes from UAE, KSA, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar are expected to benefit from this landmark workshop for the region. Among the institutes being represented include the UAE Civil service Bureau, the Institute of Public Administration in KSA and in Bahrain, Institute of Administrative Development in Qatar and the Civil Service Bureau in Kuwait.  Delegates will include Director Generals  and Presidents of the various Civil Service Bureaus (CSB) and Institute of Administrative Development (IAD) as well as hand-picked members of eTraining Technical Support from each such department. Organisations in the public and government sector in the region are expected to increasingly rely on e-learning and e-training as cost effective tools to get the best out of their workforce and the tough economy further underlines the value of e-learning and e-training.
